BECKLEY, W.Va. — When Mountain State University closed its doors at the end of 2012, many believed it would be a death knell for Beckley. And, for sure, there were some slow times.
But with a kick-start from the University of Charleston, life was breathed into the campus.
With the announcement that West Virginia University would buy the campus and be in place with some classes by Fall 2016, the circle of life was complete.
But even as Beckley prepares to welcome WVU, the news that WVU Tech would move to Raleigh County in 2017 sent Montgomery and the surrounding area into despair.
It is with sincere hearts that we say we hope to see Montgomery complete that circle of life, as well.
