If you’re lucky, people just shake their heads at your stupidity. More likely, they accuse you of being determined to destroy the world.

After the Soviet Union collapsed, it was revealed the international conspiracy was very real, if not victorious in the end.

Now, there’s a link between the two topics – communist totalitarianism and climate change – and it was furnished recently by a United Nations official.

Christiana Figueres is the top U.N. executive dealing with climate change. Much of the “science” on the subject that emanates from the U.N. goes through her.

Figueres, a Costa Rican who attended Swarthmore College and the London School of Economics, this month lamented U.S. failure to take more decisive action on climate change. She blamed it on our system of government.

Far better, Figueres opined, is communism as practiced in China. There, the Communist Party can issue a decree and everyone has to obey, she noted.
