By Ryan Thorn, West Virginia state director of USDA Rural Development
The success of every community across West Virginia depends on the health and wellbeing of its people.
At USDA Rural Development, we believe that everyone should live in a healthy and safe environment, and everyone should have access to high-quality health care services, no matter where they live. From Grantsville to Moorefield and Williamson to Kingwood.
As we celebrated National Rural Health Day on Nov. 21, we remembered that our strong West Virginia communities are rooted in its people. The theme “Power of Rural” gives us the opportunity to recognize the incredible efforts of health care providers and others dedicated to addressing the unique health care needs of rural West Virginia.
At Rural Development, we are working hard to support those selfless individuals and organizations and to help them better serve their communities.
Rural Development has many programs and resources that help rural West Virginia communities improve their health and quality of life. We want to provide health care leaders and organizations with the information they need to take full advantage of these programs.
