MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins takes home the Big 12 Coach of the Year title Sunday, March 8; and three WVU players — Juwan Staten, Devin Williams and Jevon Carter — also earn All-Big 12 honors.

Huggins was selected as Big 12 Coach of the Year for the first time.

He led the Mountaineers to the second-highest win total in the Big 12, after being selected sixth in the conference preseason poll. WVU has 11 conference wins for the first time since the 2010-’11 campaign, and its 23 wins overall are the most since the 2009-’10 Final Four season.

The award is the 11th Coach of the Year accolade for Huggins in his 33-year coaching career.

The All-Big 12 First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention teams were also announced, while conference coaches also selected All-Defensive and All-Newcomer Teams. Staten was the lone repeat selection on the First team.

Williams was named to the All-Big 12 Honorable Mention team. And Carter was named to the All-Defensive team.
