BECKLEY, W.Va. — Despite two deadlines having passed, negotiations between West Virginia University and trustees for Mountain State University over the sale of the MSU campus and facilities are actively ongoing, officials with knowledge of the talks said late Tuesday.

WVU announced it was in exclusive purchase negotiations with MSU in November. That exclusivity period was extended, and the second deadline passed Monday night.

Discussions are continuing, said WVU spokesperson John Bolt.
