MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One of the bright lights in the storied history of the WVU gymnastics program has one final opportunity to shine, this time on her sport’s grandest stage.
Hope Sloanhoffer intends to take advantage.
The senior from Cornwall, N.Y., will compete as an individual qualifier at the NCAA national championships, which begin April 18, at the Birmingham (Ala.)-Jefferson Convention Complex.
“I’m so excited and really honored that I get to represent the Mountaineers on the national stage this weekend,” said Sloanhoffer, the first Mountaineers gymnast to compete in the national meet since Meghan Morris, in 2009.
“To be able to finish out my career as a Mountaineer at nationals truly is a dream come true for me.”
