WVU business school logs record $5 million gift

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — On Monday, Feb. 24, the WVU College of Business and Economics announced the largest donation in the school’s history. The money will be used to fund a new center, visiting professorships and student fellowships.

“I was very excited,” Milan Puskar Dean Jose Sartarelli said. “This is the largest gift we’ve ever had.”

The donation of $5 million was given by alumnus Ken Kendrick, his wife, Randy, and the Charles Koch Foundation. The money will help create of the Center for Free Enterprise. The previous record donation for the college was $3 million.

Sartarelli said that the college has created several centers since he joined the university in 2010. The newest center will look at free enterprise and how it works in the private sector.

Two professors, Joshua Hall and Andrew Young, will serve as the center’s co-directors, Sartarelli said…
