BECKLEY, W.Va. — West Virginia University plans to bring a portion of its law clinics to Beckley next fall, which could provide free legal aid to area residents.
Greg Bowman, dean of the WVU College of Law, made the announcement Thursday afternoon in the Raleigh County Judicial Annex.
“We are in the truest sense of the world a service profession,” Bowman said. “The work is here, the need is here.”
The dean said the Land Use and Sustainable Development Clinic is already working with the City of Beckley, but will be joined by the team that work on veterans issues and taxes.
