BECKLEY, W.Va. — As Beckley awaits the arrival of West Virginia University-Beckley in the community, details about the campus, course offerings, and athletics are slowly taking some shape.
West Virginia University Tech President President Carolyn Long, who will also oversee the development of the Beckley campus, shared what details she could with the Beckley Rotary Club on Tuesday.
So far, possible programs of study include culinary arts, adventure sports, tourism and business and entrepreneurship.
“We are still looking at how we make this work, not just for Beckley and southern West Virginia, but all of West Virginia,” she said. “As a land grant institution, we feel it is part of our charge to be part of this community. We want to have programs that specifically work toward economic development for West Virginia.”
