CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Kanawha County’s most expensive home is going up for sale.
State Supreme Court Justice Robin Davis and husband Scott Segal are selling their estate on Quarry Ridge East. They plan to stay in Charleston and move to a smaller home, Segal said Tuesday.
“We are, in fact, preparing to put the house on the market. That’s true,” said Segal, a personal injury lawyer. “I’m 60, Robin’s 59. It’s just time to downsize.”
The 20,000-square-foot mansion is appraised at $5.3 million, but the property is expected to be listed at a price significantly higher.
Segal and Davis have hired a real estate agent and architect to sell the house. Segal would not discuss the asking price, and he said he wasn’t sure whether the house has been listed for sale yet.
“It’s for the people that are going to sell the house to decide that,” Segal said. “But how they’re going to do that and when they’re going to do that, I’m really not sure. They’ve been authorized to list it for sale. The more interesting question is what it will fetch?”
Built in 2001, the main house and a carriage house have a combined eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. The grounds include an infinity swimming pool and tennis court.
