CLARKSBURG — Buck firearms season opens in West Virginia on Monday and extends through Dec. 7, which means hunters will soon be out en masse looking to bag deer.
But as anticipation builds for the start of rifle season, it’s important not to overlook proper safety precautions in the enthusiasm to land that perfect buck, according to Lt. Douglas Benson, a law enforcement official with the state’s Division of Natural Resources.
