CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., said the United States should heed Israel’s concerns over negotiations with Iran.
McKinley also thinks U.S. leaders should have a greater sense of urgency when it comes to finding a solution for the funding woes in regards to highway infrastructure.
McKinley discussed political issues ranging from local to international in scope during a sit-down interview with The Exponent Telegram Editorial Board this week.
McKinley offered his reaction to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress last week. McKinley expressed concerns about the Obama administration’s handling of relations with Iran in light of the strain it could place on the U.S. alliance with Israel.
“I keep looking: Where is our Netanyahu in America that can talk plainly? We may not agree on everything he’s doing, but I like that kind of talk,” McKinley said. “I’d much rather deal with someone that’s forceful and comes across in a constitutional way and says, ‘Here’s how it can work.’
