HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — There’s no doubt that Marshall head coach Doc Holliday has made himself at home in the Sunshine State over his near four decades of recruiting in Florida.
However, there was one instance recently in the recruiting trail in which he entered a prospect’s home and felt a little more like home than the others.
That’s because he stepped into the living room of Antonio Brown, a former wide receiver that played for Holliday at West Virginia, who had two sons – Antonio Howard and Simino Walden – who were Class of 2015 prospects.
Now, they are no longer prospects.
They are signees with the Marshall Thundering Herd.
“It meant a lot to me to be able to go in there and recruit his kids because, No. 1, I know they come from great stock,” Holliday said. “They’re really good players and to have Antonio have that confidence in me 18, 20 years later, that means a lot to me…
