HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — They prayed for the nation, the government leaders, law enforcement and military. They prayed for clergy, for educators, for businesses, for families and children, for the unborn and for members of the media.
They prayed for all those who are involved in addiction and recovery – those who have gotten clean, those in active addiction and even the dealers on the streets, so they would have a moment of clarity.
The crowd that gathered at the Cabell County Courthouse on Thursday afternoon for the 64th annual National Day of Prayer lifted up their community and their nation in prayer as part of a nationwide event, but also as part of a growing local movement to help the Huntington area stem the tide of heartache and damage that is rooted in its drug epidemic.
