HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — If you wanted tickets to the second annual Rails and Ales Festival in August, you have waited too long.
The 1,500 tickets went on sale at noon Monday, and exactly three hours and 15 minutes later, all were gone, including 150 VIP tickets which sold out in eight minutes.
Jeff McKay, one of the event organizers, said that with the doubling of last year’s tickets from 750 to 1,500, organizers figured it would again take a couple of weeks to sell out the event.
“I don’t know that any of us expected that to happen so fast,” McKay said.
“What’s funny is the night before, we placed bets on how many we would sell and I said 500, so we didn’t expect this at all.”
Rails and Ales will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Heritage Station in downtown Huntington…
