HUNTINGTON — For the first time in 11 years, Marshall fans will get to see the Herd take part in a conference championship game.
Seeing it live, though?
Well, that will take a bit of work.
It was announced on Sunday evening that Rice will serve as host of the Conference USA Championship, which will take place at noon Saturday at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas.
“We’re certainly disappointed that we will not be able to host Saturday’s championship in front of our wonderful fans,” Marshall athletic director Mike Hamrick said. “With that said, we are extremely excited for the opportunity to compete for a league title and look forward to a great game with Rice University.”
The good news for Herd fans is that the game will be televised on ESPN2, in case they can’t make the trip to Houston for the game…
