BLUEFIELD — Editor Samantha Perry and the staff of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph hosted representatives of Changing the Future WV and West Virginia Press Association on Aug. 28 for a community meeting of local health organizations and newspaper representatives.
For Don Smith, executive director of the West Virginia Press Association, it was his first visit to the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. He was impressed.
“What an outstanding building and complex,” Smith said. “The Daily Telegraph is certainly one of the state’s most modern newspaper buildings. You can’t help but notice the great location, plenty of parking, a modern design, lots of windows and open office space. I’m sure that all of the employees of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph appreciate the facilities and working conditions. West Virginia’s newspapers serve as valuable anchors in their communities both in terms of local news product and physical facilities. ”
