MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The sound of thunder is rolling into Morgantown this weekend as 15,000 motorcyclists arrive for the 11th annual MountainFest Motorcycle Rally.

“It’s a great event to be able to be in your own backyard as motorcyclist or as a music fan,” said Cliff Sutherland, president of the board for the rally.

Thursday kicked off MountainFest weekend, with live music and vendors at Mylan Park and Triple S Harley-Davidson.

“We expect between 50,000 and 60,000 over the four days,” Sutherland said.

Events will continue throughout the weekend, with live entertainment, rides and vendors set up through Sunday afternoon.

“We have two different stunt teams, the midget wrestling, the roller derby and Coal Bucket Saloon,” Sutherland said.

Attendees can enjoy live music at Mylan Park, with the Marshall Tucker Band on the main stage Friday night and America and the Charlie Daniels Band on Saturday.

Sutherland highly recommends the motorcycle parade on High Street…
