Editor Tammie Toler honored by Princeton school

PRINCETON, W.Va. — Princeton Senior High School inducted Princeton Times Editor Tammie Toler into the PSHS Hall of Fame Wednesday during an academic awards ceremony for graduating seniors.

Allen Kade introduced Tammie and recalled what a wonderful student she had been in his 7th grade class.

“Tammie has shown determination, courage and strength throughout her recent illness,” Kade said.

Toler gave an inspirational speech about her time throughout high school and college and the steps that lead her to become the woman she is today.

“What I wouldn’t give to have my life back on March 28 the day before my stroke, but I know there was a reason this life block has happened to me. If anyone knows me they know I don’t want to slow down,” Toler said. “Doctors did not expect me to leave the hospital as soon as I did, I had to re-learn how to walk, strengthen my voice and rest. I was not expected to be standing here today speaking to you or even walk up these steps, but I am sure glad I am.”

Toler said she graduated from PSHS in 1995 and the school is very close to her heart.

“I admire all of the teachers and staff at the school and what they do for the students there,” Toler said…
