BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — Bluefield Daily Telegraph Editor Samantha Perry will deliver the keynote address Friday at the Professional Business Women’s Conference at Bluefield College.
Bluefield College is hosting the conference Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shott Hall. The program is designed to help today’s working women develop their leadership skills, business etiquette, health and technology knowledge, according to a college press release.
Titled “Rising to Excellence,” the day-long conference in BC’s Shott Hall will feature a keynote speaker, workshop sessions, lunch and a vendor’s hall. The sessions will be led by successful business and leadership experts from Southwest Virginia.
Headlining the women’s conference will be Perry, editor of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph.
A graduate of Montcalm High School and Bluefield State College, Perry began her career as a reporter for the Telegraph in 1989. The following year, she was promoted to Lifestyles editor and remained in that role for a decade. In 2000, she was promoted to city editor, and less than two years later promoted again to managing editor.
