WHEELING, W.Va. — West Virginia Senate Majority Leader Ryan Ferns will meet with White House officials today in Washington, D.C., to discuss what the state is doing to combat the state’s high rate of opioid addiction.
Trump administration officials have invited Ferns, R-Ohio, to the “Best Practices in Combating the Opioid Epidemic: Conference with State and Local Leaders” set this afternoon in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
Ferns said representatives from states most affected by the drug crisis have been invited, and he said at least two officials with Gov. Jim Justice’s office will be attending.
