West Virginia Public Service Commission orders gas rates lowered for most customers

CHARLESTON, W.Va.  — The majority of West Virginia residents will see lower natural gas bills this winter.

The Public Service Commission of West Virginia ordered natural gas utilities to lower the purchased gas portion of their rates for over 95 percent of the natural gas customers in the state Tuesday.

The lower interim rates go into effect Nov. 1. Final rates will be set in early 2019.
