West Virginia Lottery breaks losing streak with upturn in March revenue collection

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Lady luck may have smiled on the West Virginia Lottery in March, as the Lottery broke a long losing streak for revenue collection.

After seeing ongoing month-to-month declines in revenue since 2012, March revenue of $106.09 million reversed course, topping March 2017 revenue by $8.08 million.

That 8 percent upswing pushed budget year-to-date collection to $812.55 million, ahead of the $808.32 million in total revenue collected at the same point in 2017.
