West Virginia Gov. Justice, Dept. of Commerce host conference on state tourism

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  – While many people know West Virginia from the song “Country Roads,” it often isn’t the first state out-of-towners think of when planning a vacation or trip.

The West Virginia Dept. of Commerce hopes to change that, and if the current trend of increased tourism continues, there is hope for the state to become a destination for individuals around the country.

On Wednesday, the Department of Commerce and Gov. Jim Justice hosted the 2018 Governor’s Conference on Tourism, where leaders in the industry spoke alongside the governor on improving the opportunity for tourism and the revenue it can produce.
