MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The state has awarded a $49 million contract to widen to six lanes a section of Interstate 81 between Apple Harvest Drive and Tabler Station Road, state officials said.
Gov. Jim Justice announced the West Virginia Department of Transportation’s award of the contract to Mt. Storm-based A.L.L. Construction, Inc.for 3.6 mile project Tuesday.
The work will widen the highway to six lanes total on a 3.6-mile section between mile 12 and mile 8 interchanges.
