As ramps season approaches, communities across West Virginia are preparing to celebrate this Appalachian delicacy with festivals and dinners showcasing its unique flavor. Known for their pungent aroma and bold taste, ramps have become a cultural symbol in the Mountain State. From April 19-26, several events will highlight ramps-inspired dishes, live entertainment, and local vendors.
Ramps & Rails Festival – April 26 (Elkins, WV)
This annual festival marks both the ramps harvest season and the start of West Virginia Mountain Rail’s spring train rides. The event will take place at the Elkins Depot Welcome Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring local vendors selling ramps-inspired products, including ramparoni rolls and ramps donuts.
