HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — With 167 banks and credit unions located in West Virginia, Mountain State residents have no shortage of options when it comes money lending.
Marshall University associate professor of Economics Robin McCutcheon said these additional options are good news for borrowers.
“That number of institutions is rather large for a state of our size,” she said. “That’s a competitive number as far as banking goes, meaning interest rates will likely be rather low.”
