BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Officials in Upshur and Lewis counties are currently making preparations for a joint venture that never fails to pull in visitors from all over the country.

With “WV’s Largest Yard Sale” less than a month away, officials are sharing their excitement for the annual event.

Lacy Ramsey, executive director of the Upshur County Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the yard sale is significant for county residents.

“It is a big deal, and people take it very seriously,” she said. “We have people who call and come in from surrounding states for this weekend, so it is pretty big.”

Dozens of vendors have already made contact with county leadership to secure their position at the sale, Ramsey said.

“Right now we have over 50 responses, and we’ll get more as we get closer to the date,” she said. “Probably close to two-thirds of the vendors are in Upshur County and then there are some with Lewis as well.”
