MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Journal is looking for nominations to honor residents in Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties who strive to make their communities a better place.
“Sometimes the brightest ‘stars’ are the closest,” said Judy Gelestor, publisher of The Journal. “This program will allow us to honor individuals who you might not ever read about, those people whose picture you may never see in the newspaper but who play a major role in our area.”
Gelestor said The Journal is hoping “Community Stars” will be an annual event of honoring those who have undertaken exceptional volunteer efforts to improve the community.
