MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice has ordered an investigation after a 16-year-old in Martinsburg was allegedly beaten by two West Virginia State troopers.
Justice released a statement Thursday, saying he instructed State Police Superintendent Col. Jan Cahill to investigate the incident, which was allegedly caught on dash cam footage. The footage was not available due to the ongoing investigation, according to reports.
A separate statement from the West Virginia State Police said the incident occurred on Nov. 19 and the two troopers from the Martinsburg Detachment have been placed on administrative leave without pay, after the department learned of the incident.
