MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Del. John Overington, R- Berkeley, announced that the 29th Annual Quad-State Legislative Conference, will take place Thursday at the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg.

This annual conference brings together state legislators from along the I-81 corridor of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Legislators from the four-state area have been meeting since 1986 to discuss issues of mutual concern and regional cooperation, according to a release from Overington.

“We have been holding these meetings since the late 1980s and they have provided a beneficial way to work together on regional issues,” Overington said. “With Interstate 81 our four states are within a 45-minute drive of each other and these conferences have been helpful in responding to issues that cross state lines. In the past we have even visited each other’s state capitols to share ideas and better work together.”
