Public Service Commission hearing discusses territorial dispute between water utility providers

CHARLES TOWN — The West Virginia Public Service Commission (PSC) held a hearing on July 30 concerning the territorial dispute between the Charles Town Utility Board (CTUB) and West Virginia American Water (WVAW).

Administrative Law Judge Keith George oversaw the proceedings.

This dispute started when CTUB filed a complaint with the PSC after West Virginia American Water, a private water utility company, allegedly began encroaching on their planned growth territory. Even though CTUB has infrastructure for an incoming development between Keyes Ferry Road and Old Country Club Road, WVAW has plans to extend a water service hookup to the area.
