PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Successes, challenges and global energy issues were discussed by industry leaders during the Pipelines to Prosperity Panel Wednesday as part of the eighth Shale Insight Conference.
Dominion Energy Vice President of Eastern Pipeline Operations Brian Sheppard said that while progress has been made on the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, resistance to such projects remains. However, instead of resistance coming from government regulations, as has been the case in the past, it since has shifted to protest groups.
Still, Sheppard noted that the number of people hostile to natural gas development is a fairly small part of the population. While the industry has its share of supporters, the majority of the public is more or less neutral.
