WHEELING, W.Va. — The public is invited to attend the National Day of Prayer event in Wheeling on Thursday.
This year’s theme for the National Day of Prayer is “Love One Another.” The nationwide observance will be held locally at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the third floor courtroom at West Virginia Independence Hall in downtown Wheeling.
The annual observance is traditionally held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry Truman. National Day of Prayer exists to mobilize unified public prayer for America.
