BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — More than 150 stakeholders of the region’s business community attended the eighth annual North Central West Virginia Bridges Without Boundaries Business Summit Tuesday at the Bridgeport Conference Center.
The day’s events included talks from West Virginia University’s Dr. John Deskins and Mountaintop Beverage CEO Jeffrey Sokal, a panel discussion on recent developments in retail and a virtual appearance by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.
Deskins, director of the West Virginia University Bureau of Business & Economic Research, shared findings from his annual economic forecast for the region.
This year’s report begins on a “sour note,” Deskins said.
