Media Advisory: Sen. Manchin to host Southern W.Va. job fair Wednesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) will co-host the Southern West Virginia Spring Employment, Recruitment and Resource Fair in Bluefield. The free event will be co-hosted with WVVA and Bluefield State College. Nearly 100 government and private sector employers have signed up for the event. The Office of Personnel Management, a federal agency that oversees the hiring process for federal jobs, will be on site to give a one-hour seminar on “How to Find and Apply for Federal Jobs.”

“As your U.S. Senator, I will continue to focus on supporting West Virginia’s continued economic development, and this fair will serve as an invaluable opportunity to connect our hardworking citizens with employers,” Senator Manchin said. “The better we build these bridges and foster these connections, the more positive the economic outlook of southern West Virginia will be for decades to come.”

 

The Southern West Virginia Spring Employment, Recruitment and Resource Fair is part of a series of twelve hiring or resource fairs Senator Manchin is co-hosting across the state in 2016.

When: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Senator Manchin is scheduled to give brief remarks around 10:30 a.m.

Where: Bluefield State College, 219 Rock Street, Bluefield.
