WHEELING, W.Va. — A walkout by West Virginia’s public school teachers and school employees means Ohio County students won’t be in the classroom today or Friday — leaving many children without access to the free breakfast and lunch they receive at school.
Many parents also will have to decide whether to call off work to stay home with their children, or find child care for the canceled classroom days.
The Children’s Museum of the Ohio Valley and the Wheeling YMCA both are providing safe environments for children to come play today and Friday.
