FAIRMONT, W.Va.  – Retired UPS driver Phil Mallow filed to run for the West Virginia House of Delegates in the 50th District as a Republican last week.

Mallow previously ran for the House of Delegates in 2014 and again in 2016, and is returning this election season with a campaign focused on public awareness.

“I think we have much more potential than what we are experiencing. I hear every day from people that Harrison County is doing very well, Mon County is doing very well, we’re sitting in the middle and not doing as well. ‘Why not,’” Mallow said. “I really believe we’re better than this.”

Having lived in Marion County since 1987, Mallow said his main goal for the election is to let everyone in the county know the untapped potential the district has, and to move forward with that potential.

Currently, Mallow takes part in a weekly luncheon at Mom’s Restaurant in Fairmont, where he said he and other community members discuss both local and country-wide issues. He said these luncheons often make people think ‘Why don’t we ever hear this anywhere else?’ which is an approach he would like to bring to change and bring to the House.
