WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — During the regular commission meeting on May 20, Michael Parsley, a student at Kermit Pre K-8, was commended for his performance in a statewide essay contest, in which he earned the third-place position.
“I want to recognize a young gentleman from Kermit Pre K-8 who participated in a statewide essay contest,” remarked Commission President Nathan Brown during the meeting.
The essay prompt for the contest was “A day in the life of a County Commissioner,” as Brown explained, “About a month ago I went to Kermit on behalf of the commission and talked to the eighth grade class about what a county commission does, what to expect and our day-to-day activities.”
