CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Lawmakers in the West Virginia House of Delegates recently got a crash course on microgrids from a group of energy experts.
Representatives of energy companies and trade associations gave members of the the House Energy and Public Works Committee an overview of what the emerging energy technology could mean for the Mountain State across two separate meetings.
Microgrids are localized power supply grids that have the ability to disconnect from traditional power supply grids — like the PJM Interconnection that supplies power to much of the eastern U.S. — and continue operating autonomously.
