FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Over the past few years, leadership roles at Fairmont State University have been filled more frequently by women.
As Andrea Pammer, director of counseling and disability services at the university, pointed out, roles which were previously filled by men have been occupied by women who have risen to ranks not possible just a few decades ago.
“Over the last at least six, seven or eight years or so we’ve had more and more women in leadership positions,” Pammer said. “This is our second women president in a row. Our provost is a woman, many of the leadership roles are filled with women, which is not typical.”
