CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A bill creating a coalition on diabetes management was unanimously passed Thursday by the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Senate Bill 360 tasks the coalition with finding conclusions and recommendations to the Legislature for a better means of diabetes management for state residents.

The dean of the School of Public Health at West Virginia University will serve as chair of the coalition. Other members will include four board-certified endocrinologists, a primary care physician, a pediatric physician, a pharmacist and a dietitian.

Because the bill was amended before its approval by the House, it must now return to the Senate for approval.
