MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  — If you find yourself out and about in Morgantown the weekend of October 20-21, you may want to cast the occasional glance skyward.

Balloons Over Morgantown will bring more than a dozen hot air balloons to town for a weekend of flights.

Festivities lift off at 7 p.m. Oct. 19, when the public is invited to the Morgantown Mall to see the NightGlow, during which tethered balloons are inflated and lit using one of the aerostat’s two burners.

Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to arrive early.

Following the opening NightGlow, the balloons will launch at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 21 and at 8 a.m. on Oct. 22 for flights over and around Morgantown.

The balloons will launch from the Morgantown Municipal Airport. All launches will be dependant on wind and weather conditions.

Non-crew members will not be permitted in the launch area, but there will be several locations around the airport from which the balloons will be visible.
