CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A second bidder has emerged for the Charleston Gazette-Mail, setting the stage for an auction of the property on Thursday.
According to a document filed in federal bankruptcy court Monday, HD Media, based in Huntington, has placed a bid to purchase the newspaper.
The document doesn’t indicate how much HD Media bid for West Virginia’s largest newspaper, but HD Media attorney Thomas Gilpin describes the company as a “qualified bidder.”
