From Nashville to Harrisville: MuttNation Awards Humane Society Top Recognition

By Rachel Morrison, Ritchie Gazette

HARRISVILLE, W.Va. — The Ritchie County Humane Society recently had the great honor of receiving an exclusive grant, which is only awarded to a single animal shelter in West Virginia every year.

Founded by Country Music Star Miranda Lambert and her mother Bev, the MuttNation Foundation has raised over $11 Million and assisted more than 1,000 shelters since it was established in 2009. Every year, the Mutts Across America Program chooses one animal shelter per state to receive a $5,000 grant, equaling $250,000 nationwide.

In a public statement released on their Facebook, The RC Humane Society expressed their gratitude to Lambert, MuttNation, and Tractor Supply for their show of support. “We are incredibly honored to be recognized for our work and deeply grateful for the support from organizations that truly understand the importance of animal welfare,” the post stated. “Thanks to this generous and unexpected donation, we’ll be able to continue to provide care, shelter, and second chances to the animals that need it most.”
