MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Calling opioid addiction a threat to West Virginia’s “economic vitality,” said U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., who exhorted Eastern Panhandle officials to use all resources within arm’s length to fight the crisis.
“This a fight that we’ve got to win,” said Manchin, as keynote speaker at the Substance Abuse Prevention Awareness Launch held at the Berkeley County Recovery Resource Center Monday. “It’s basically a fight on every front door of America.”
In addition to Manchin, other speakers included Dr. Raj Masih, coordinator of the Potomac Health & Wellness Center; Maury Richards, Martinsburg Police Chief and Kevin Knowles, coordinator of the Berkeley County RRC.
