MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia will participate in a federal program titled “Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge”that will go after illegal distributors of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids, federal officials announced Friday.
Berkeley County will be the focus of West Virginia’s Northern District.
West Virginia’s districts are among the ten districts to participate. Other districts include: Eastern District of California; Eastern District of Kentucky; District of Maine; District of New Hampshire; Northern District of Ohio; Southern District of Ohio;Western District of Pennsylvania and the Eastern District of Tennessee.
