Downtown Parkersburg to host ArtOberfest

PARKERSBURG, W.Va.  — ArtOberfest, a German-style arts fair, will be held from 4-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in the 700 block of Market Street.

This first event for downtown Parkersburg is sponsored by the Parkersburg Art Center, Downtown PKB, Parkersburg Brewing Co., Artsbridge, Mango Latin Bistro, and Parkersburg YMCA.

The event is $5 per person with children 12 and under free. The entertainment includes: student groups, 4-6 p.m.; Oompa with Scott Kitchen, 6-7 p.m.; Steve Hussey Band, 7-8 p.m.; Oompa with Scott Kitchen, 8-9 p.m., and Mother Tucker Quartet from Athens, Ohio, 9-10 p.m.

Vendors at the art fair will include Parkersburg Photo Club; Parkersburg Art Center Studio; Mike Penn, pen and ink realistic renderings of historic buildings; Madeline Grant, poured acrylic panels, pop culture jewelry, resin paperweights; Lavana Lemley, surreal animal sculptures, mugs and blankets printed with these images; and Ginny Killian, mixed media works on canvas.

Kids crafts will be provided by volunteers from Artsbridge and the Parkersburg High School Key Club.

Parkersburg Brewing Co. will be offering brewery tours every hour on the hour, free of charge.

Childcare will be provided by the Parkersburg Art Center’s Art Factory from 6-9 p.m. Call 304-485-3859 to register for childcare or for more information.
