Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday continue kickoff of the season of giving

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Black Friday is over. Small Business Saturday is over. Now, it’s time for those who enjoy shopping from their own home. Cyber Monday is now upon us.

Whether it’s curling up on your couch with your laptop while watching your favorite movie, or scrolling through deals on your phone as you begin to bring out your holiday decorations — Cyber Monday allows you to shop on your own time. All while snagging great deals, of course.

According to those at Reader’s Digest (RD), in 2017 Americans spent more than $3 billion online for Cyber Monday, making it the biggest e-commerce sales day in the country. But how did Cyber Monday come to be?
