BECKLEY, W.Va. — Nights of terror and mayhem featuring clowns and zombies will take over the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine beginning this weekend at the Haunted Coal Mine event to benefit Theatre West Virginia.

Scott Hill, General Manager for Theatre West Virginia, exits his prop-filled truck Thursday as he arrives at the Exhibition Coal Mine for meetings with actors and setup for the Beckley Haunted Coal Mine, which opens up this evening at 6:00 p.m.

The event will play out a scenario to see if clowns and zombies can get along, and attendees can see for themselves during the month-long event as mantrips at the mine take attendees underground for a scare.

The event kicks off tonight and Saturday, and will also run Oct. 20, 21, 27 and 28.

All proceeds from the event benefit TWV; admission is $15 per person.

The first train departs nightly at 6 p.m., and the last train out is at 10 p.m.

For more information on the event, call 304-256-1747.
